This high-quality short film was produced by BBC StoryWorks, the commercial content division of BBC Global News, in partnership with the World Green Building Council and showcases how the innovative pay-per-use CaaS business model is being applied in a variety of industries and regions. Along with some background information on the model, the film also explores two case studies to show the far-reaching impact that CaaS has had. From students in India to market vendors in Nigeria, the need to stay cool can now be addressed with more reliable, clean and energy-efficient technology.
First, the video allows us to travel to Pune, India, to see how Kaer is offering CaaS to the commercial and educational building Elpro Park. Then, we discover how ColdHubs adapted the model to the agricultural cold chain sector, enabling farmers to reduce food waste by benefitting to clean cooling on a pay-as-you-store basis.
“We are very excited about this video as this excellent piece of knowledge will be key to showcasing that CaaS is much more than just an innovative concept and is already operating in various sectors around the world,” said Thomas Motmans, Sustainable Energy Finance Specialist at BASE.
